As you may have seen from our previous blog on Tara and Ross’ big day, we love a tipi wedding! So when we were asked to do the catering for Louisa and Charles’ wedding in the woods, we didn’t hesitate!
Pulling up to the venue on the slightly chilly but dry May day, we just knew it was going to be special. The setting was a secluded private wood in Nether Alderley along with lake, log cabin and a stunning 99 acres of woodland.
A tipi to seat the couple’s 100 guests had been erected just for the occasion and the fab jazz band, The Silvermoon Quartet, were doing a sound check as we arrived to set up.
The menu for the day couldn’t have suited the outdoor venue better and revolved around the BBQ! Set up in the log cabin alongside family friend Roy’s bar, it was straight on the grill for chef Big Ghes. Tandoori chicken legs, Moroccan lamb skewers, chargrilled halloumi and succulent bavette steaks were accompanied by roasted new potatoes and a range of six delicious salads.
We also provided canapés served on wooden boards and a cake table – with eight homemade layer cakes served on log boards – all to fit in with the stunning woodland theme. The catering for the couple’s big day was all topped off with the ‘piece de resistance’ – a homemade brownie tower wedding cake!
Louisa and Charles were a delight to work with on this wedding and we loved being a part of it. The couple’s guests were raving about the food on the day – and we have since had a number of requests for the recipe for our Tandoori marinade!
