It may have been the day after the big storm, but nothing was set to dampen the spirits on Becky and Matt’s big day. Located at Thyme Out favourite Victoria Baths, this wedding had such a unique feel from the very start.
The wedding breakfast was a laid back feast with a Greek flavour – a fabulous selection of mezze dishes – all served in the middle of the table for guests to enjoy. Pork, lamb and swordfish souvlaki skewers, chargrilled halloumi with caramelised limes and sesame coated fried feta with honey (saganaki) were the main event, all accompanied by a selection of fresh salads, homemade hummus, tzatziki and baba ganoush.
The best of Greek was followed by the best of British for dessert – traditional cream tea with fresh scones, homemade strawberry jam (because it tastes sooooo much better) and of course, clotted cream.
After a break to enjoy the festivities, which included a comedy show and a photo booth session (more on this below…!) evening guests were treated to more Mediterranean delights. Spinach and feta pie, chicken and chorizo pie and beef stifado were served up by our staff.
One of the guests commented that the chicken and chorizo pie was ‘the best thing he’d ever eaten’. We’ll definitely take that!
We always love a wedding at Victoria Baths. It is a fab venue that really lends itself to creating a unique and individual wedding. Becky and Matt’s big day exemplified this perfectly.
Here are a few more pics of what was a very enjoyable day. Best wishes guys! X
