We had the pleasure of providing the wedding catering at Ross and Tara’s teepee wedding a couple of weeks ago.
First of all, what a fab idea for a wedding! As we arrived at Turton Tower in Bolton and entered the teepee for the first time, there were multiple ‘oohs’ and ‘aaahs’ from the waiting on staff. Provided by the clever guys at Papakata, (the same people that provide the teepee at the Oast House at Christmas time), the teepee was absolutely stunning, decked out in a rustic style with long tables and flowers from the cottage garden on site at Turton.
Although the day had started out a bit drizzly, it dried up on the arrival of the bride and groom and we were able to serve their canapes outside. Miniature roast beef and yorkshire, brie and caramelised beetroot chutney and popcorn tandoori chicken skewers were served to the mellow sounds of acoustic guitar.
Starters for the laid-back wedding breakfast were served in mezze style – a selection of dishes placed on the table for the guests to share.
The main event was tapas themed – paella, prawn skewers, rich tomato meatballs, roasted balsamic vegetables, spanish tortilla, chicken and chorizo skewers and garden salad were enough to satisfy even the rugby player guests’ appetites!
Desserts came in the form of a dessert table – with a selection of freshly made cakes and petit fours.
We were also asked to make the wedding cake. This multi-layered victoria sponge cake decorated with fresh fruit and flowers looked stunning if we say so ourselves – and we hear it didn’t taste bad either!
So, to Tara and Ross…we wish you all the happiness in the world and congratulations on such a fabulous wedding day x
